Amy Kane focuses her practice on the defense of hospitals and healthcare professionals against claims of medical negligence. Throughout her career she has handled numerous jury trials covering a broad spectrum of medical issues, many of which involved catastrophic neurologic injury. As a result, she has extensive experience in all aspects of trial work.
Throughout her years of practice, Amy has taken on various cases involving neurology and neurosurgery, and those involving catastrophic brain and spinal cord injury. She takes particular interest in the science and medicine regarding the brain and central nervous system. Over the years, her exposure to cases involving brain treatment and injury has allowed her to review and absorb a wealth of information on the subject, which helps to inform her daily work.
To develop the strongest possible case, Amy focuses on the facts and medicine of each case. Understanding the medicine allows her to identify and dissect critical issues within the claims facing her clients. Another fundamental component of Amy’s practice is her communication with clients. Given the challenges facing her clients, she understands the value of being accessible and responsive. She strives to extend the same courtesy in her interactions with opposing counsel and co-defendants, and, when possible, works to establish a more collaborative and cooperative process.
As a member of the catastrophic trial team Amy H. Kane is available to practice in all of our offices and across the country, on a case by case basis.
