| Tawni Anderson concentrates her practice in the defense of hospitals, medical professionals, and other health care providers against medical negligence claims. She has a particular interest in claims involving neurological and neurosurgical issues. The second major area of Tawni's practice is appellate advocacy, including pre- and post-trial consulting; representing parties, including amici curiae, at state and federal appellate proceedings; and consulting with attorneys regarding their appellate briefs, their overall appellate strategies, and their oral arguments. Tawni graduated in 1991 with a degree in French Literature from Reed College in Portland, Oregon. In addition to her extensive work in French literature, Tawni also studied German, Latin, Greek, and English literature and language; Medieval French and German language and literature; rhetoric; and literary theory. During law school, Tawni placed third in the Traynor Moot Court competition (with the second-highest oral argument score), was a legal writing instructor, won several awards, and was actively involved with the Native American Law Students Association. Prior to joining HPS, Tawni clerked at the Utah Court of Appeals for nearly three years, was an associate at Snell & Wilmer for five years, and then spent four years further refining her litigation and appellate practice at Dewsnup, King & Olsen and Richards Brandt Miller Nelson.
