Casey Tyler focuses his practice on the defense of professionals, with particular emphasis on medical malpractice claims and business and industry-specific cases involving catastrophic injuries. He also practices in various areas of commercial litigation and contract dispute matters.
His medical work includes frequent representation of all forms of providers on both an institutional and an individual level. He also has experience representing different types of accounting and finance professionals.
In his work representing companies against catastrophic injury claims, Casey has defended varied industries and businesses with regard to claims by guests, employees, pedestrians and drivers. This includes injuries ranging from the brain and spine to death and dismemberment.
His significant litigation experience includes jury, bench and short trials, arbitration, mediation, and regulatory board representation, as well as actions and briefing before the Nevada Supreme Court. His most recent defense verdict resulted in a finding of no negligence in a retained surgical instrument matter alleging permanent and debilitating lumbar injury.
Beyond litigation, Casey provides risk management support for his clients and has spoken on numerous occasions at local hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers regarding documentation and minimizing exposure in future claims.
Prior to joining HPS, Casey was an associate at Wells & Rawlings. There, his general practice allowed him to gain invaluable training and experience in varied areas of litigation and discovery, which continue to inform his current practice today.
During law school, Casey successfully completed the Litigation Skills Program of Concentrated Study, as well as a study abroad program throughout the Pacific Rim.
While at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Casey was a University Distinguished Scholar and a member of the University Honors Program.
