On April 26, for the third year in a row, HPS opened its doors to the next generation so that the children of our firm’s attorneys and professional staff could get a glimpse into how a law firm operates and how their parents spend their day.
The firm welcomed 23 children in Chicago, ranging in age from 6 to 13, and 2 children in Pensacola, ages 10 and 13.
After enjoying breakfast with their parents, the older children in Chicago took a tour of the Daley Center and got to observe trial testimony in an actual case in front of the Honorable Thomas V. Lyons II. The children were also invited by the Honorable Marcia Maras to her courtroom for a Q&A session from her jury box. The younger children took a tour of the Chicago office and learned all about the different administrative departments and then spent time doing crafts. After lunch, the children shadowed their parents while they went about their daily activities.
Participating in “Take Your Child to Work Day” helps reinforce HPS’ strong belief that there can be a healthy balance of work and family life.
