Marilee Clausing represents hospitals and healthcare providers in cases involving medical malpractice litigation, particularly in matters related to birth trauma, neonatal and pediatric defense. Her clinical background as an obstetrical nurse uniquely complements her 30 years of legal practice, where she has tried scores of catastrophic injury cases to verdict, including those involving birth trauma, neonatal injury, death and neurological injury.
The combination of her nursing and legal backgrounds provides Marilee with uncommon insight into the challenges facing her clients and how to defend allegations against them.
Marilee’s approach is driven by the client’s needs, priorities and goals. The two questions she seeks to answer for her clients are: "What is most important to you or your organization?" and "How can I help you accomplish your goal?" Depending on the client and the matter, the answers to those questions could result in a rapid investigative response to a birth trauma, early resolution of a catastrophic claim, vigorous defense of a case through trial, and/or alternative dispute resolution.
As a member of the catastrophic trial team Marilee Clausing is available to practice in all of our offices and across the country, on a case by case basis.
