Michele Anderson has spent her career defending hospitals, physicians and nurses against claims of general medical negligence. Her specialty has been the defense of obstetricians and nurses in birth trauma cases. Over her 20 years of practice, Michele has taken numerous cases to trial, where she has defended medical professionals in matters related to birth trauma and a broad spectrum of other medical issues.
At the outset of each case, Michele determines a clear course of action to defend the claims facing her clients. Her attention to the details of a case, ability to identify risks and challenges, and her years of practice inform the direction of her defense. As a result, her work is executed with purpose and focus. Michele considers her clients’ matters her own and exercises concerned ownership over the challenges they face.
One particular area of specialty for Michele is defending claims of apparent agency for hospitals, where she has been successful in the dismissal of hospitals on motions for summary judgment, directed verdict, and also successful on appeal. She is frequently asked to lecture on a wide range of legal issues affecting medical negligence cases.
Prior to joining HPS in 2015, Michele was a partner at Anderson, Rasor & Partners, LLP, and was also previously a member of the medical litigation department at Lord, Bissell & Brook.
As a member of the catastrophic trial team Michele C. Anderson is available to practice in all of our offices and across the country, on a case by case basis.
