HPS is a firm with a plan. But more than that, we are a firm that turns plans into actions.

Our Paying It Forward efforts will be driven by three distinct goals:

  • create new ways to build relationships and interact with like-minded philanthropic clients
  • foster a supportive, healthy environment for each of our employees; and
  • impact our broader community in a positive way

For example, we worked hard in 2014 to positively impact the world by raising $41,000 for clean drinking water in Africa by running 198 miles for Oregon’s Hood to Coast Relay. In 2015, we packed over 3000 meals, ran 240 miles, fed close to 100 children for a year, and then some.

Moving forward, we are going to do even more. Here’s how…

The Plan: Our goal now is to continue expanding our focus on health, wellness and teamwork through activities our people are passionate about. We are invested in the causes of our team here at HPS, so we have invited each and every HPS employee to join in by developing events or activities that our people will find meaningful, challenging and exciting. Our hope is to include as many people and events as possible and to utilize our network of colleagues and contacts to broaden our support and raise funds for worthy causes.

We will continue to partner with Team World Vision and other charitable organizations to ensure the dollars we raise are doing the most good.

We can’t wait to see what we can do together.

See the HPS Paying It Forward campaign featured in the July/August 2015 issue of Diversity and the Bar article, "How Pro Bono Efforts Are Changing," which discusses the recent shift in pro bono efforts among many law firms, and what can be gained when firms focus on creating cultures of giving.
