Todd Stalmack is a trial lawyer with more than 16 years of experience defending high-exposure catastrophic injury and death claims against physicians, hospitals and healthcare providers. He has tried cases involving various medical specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, vascular surgery, cardiology, internal medicine, critical care medicine, plastic surgery and obstetrics/gynecology. His cases have involved catastrophic injuries including wrongful death, severe neurologic injury, loss of limb and permanent disfigurement.
Todd handles all aspects of medical litigation, from pre-suit investigation through trial. He values identifying and managing risk for his clients at the earliest stages of litigation. He also has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution.
Prior to joining HPS in 2018, Todd defended medical malpractice claims, legal malpractice claims and construction injury claims in Chicago, Illinois, as a partner at Donohue Brown Mathewson & Smyth LLC.
Todd previously served as a Judge for Northwestern University School of Law’s and Loyola University Chicago School of Law’s Trial Advocacy Programs.
Todd has been selected by his peers for inclusion on the Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” list from 2011 through 2016.
While in law school, Todd was the editor of the Denver University Law Review and recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for Torts I, Torts II and Jurisprudence.
Todd currently lives in Greenwood Village with his wife and three young sons.
