HPS Adds Wisconsin Licenses to Better Serve Clients

Chicago
January 31, 2023

In December 2022, three additional attorneys at Hall Prangle and Schoonveld, LLC were sworn into the Wisconsin Bar, which now makes eight attorneys at the Firm licensed to practice law in that state. HPS partners and associates moved to gain permanent licenses in Wisconsin to better serve clients with healthcare legal and litigation needs in that state.

The HPS attorneys now licensed in Wisconsin have a wealth of experience representing and defending healthcare systems. They bring to this new jurisdiction extensive legal knowledge, trial experience, and healthcare legal and compliance experience, raising the bar for their adversaries in the state.

David Hall, one of the firm’s founding Partners, and Managing Partner, Marilee Clausing, have combined taken over 150 trials to verdict, defending some of the highest-profile cases in the Chicagoland area.

Jacob Goldstein is the Co-Chair of the Firm’s Appellate practice. With Hugh Griffin, his  Co-Chair, the Appellate Team has argued over 650 cases nationwide and has been ranked in the top tier by U.S. News and World Report since 2018.

Ann Ford previously served as General Counsel for two Chicago area hospitals and as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for an international medical technology company. She is now a partner at HPS and Managing Director of the Firm’s consulting arm, HPS Advise.

Sapna Lalmalani and Matthew Ennis, two of the Firm’s younger partners, were the first and second HPS attorneys to be licensed in Wisconsin, respectively. They have each been part of trial teams defending high-profile medical malpractice cases and have been recognized for excellence by regional and national publications and by peers in the legal community.

Gina Ambrose is an experienced Associate who has worked on some of the Firm’s largest and most complex cases in the last five years. She too has been recognized in the legal community for her trial work.

James Kearney, a former Washington D.C. Police Officer, is an Associate at HPS and has participated in legal defense teams and investigations ranging from criminal complaints to professional licensure issues.
