Welcome to the Team, Joe & Anu!

We are delighted to have two new associates join our HPS Team in Chicago, Joseph Muska and Anu Rao!  

Joseph Muska earned his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2020 and his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 2017. In law school, Joe was a member of the Civil Mock Trial Team and Student Articles Editor of the Loyola University Chicago Law Journal. Prior to joining HPS, Joe served as an extern for the Honorable Judge Charles Kocoras in the Northern District of Illinois and was a Student Adjudications Prosecutor for the Chicago Board of Education. He also has two years of malpractice experience at another Chicago area defense firm.   

Anu Rao earned her J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2021 and her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2017. While in law school, she was the founder of South Asian Law Students Association and was an active member of Chicago-Kent’s nationally ranked mock trial team. She continues to dedicate her free time teaching trial advocacy to undergraduate and law school students. Prior to joining HPS, Anu was an Assistant Public Defender in Will County, Illinois where she handled aggravated traffic and misdemeanor criminal offenses for indigent citizens.  

Joe and Anu will focus their practice on the defense of healthcare organizations and providers.
