HPS Welcomes Two Associates to the Firm

On Thursday, November 7, 2019, Hall Prangle and Schoonveld, LLC (HPS) welcomed two associates into the firm with a reception held at HPS's Chicago Office.

The reception celebrated Natalie Novak and Matthew Rechtoris being sworn into the Illinois State Bar at a ceremony at the Arie Crown Theater in Chicago.

"This is a special day," said David Hall, one of the firm's founding partners, at HPS’s reception welcoming the two attorneys. "It is our sincere goal that you find in this place the space to grow and find out what kind of lawyer you want to be."

Ms. Novak studied social work at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and graduated from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law in 2019. While in law school, she was a member of the Willem C. Vis Moot International Vienna Team, advocated for clients as a member of the Health Law Clinic, and wrote for the Annals of Health Law. Ms. Novak earned Dean’s List honors each semester of Law School.

Mr. Rechtoris studied history at the University of Iowa and graduated from Loyola University of Chicago School of Law in 2019. During law school, he was a Senior Editor of the Loyola University Chicago Law Journal, served as a Judicial Extern for Judge Jorge L. Alonso of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and represented Loyola in the National Moot Court Competition and the Appellate Lawyers Association Moot Court Competition.

Both Ms. Novak and Mr. Rechtoris passed the bar in 2019.

"This is your first step in a long journey," Mr. Hall said. "I can only guarantee you that we will always support you. There will never be any artificial ceilings or barriers to your growth here, so take advantage of this opportunity. I'm confident you're going to make us proud."
