HPS Partners with Direct Effect Charities to Support Southside Occupational Academy Students

At HPS, we believe that giving back to our community is not just a responsibility, but a privilege. Recently, we had the opportunity to partner with Direct Effect Charities, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of children in need through Chicago’s Public Schools, to make a meaningful contribution to the students of Southside Occupational Academy.

Southside Occupational Academy serves as a transition center for students aged 16-22 with disabilities. Their mission is to foster an environment where young adults can develop the skills necessary for success beyond the classroom. However, like many schools serving underserved populations, the academy faces challenges in ensuring that all students have access to the resources they need. Recognizing this need, our team at HPS came together to pack backpacks filled with essential school supplies, such as reusable water bottles, wallets, ID holders, and umbrellas.

This initiative was more than just a volunteer effort – it was an expression of our firm’s commitment to supporting our community and fostering an inclusive environment where everyone has the opportunity to succeed. By providing these students with the necessary supplies, we hope to alleviate some of the barriers they face and empower them to focus on their growth and development.

At HPS, we are proud to be a firm that values community involvement. We are dedicated to making a difference, one step at a time, and will continue to support those in need.
