Ries-Buntain Named Women in Law Honoree

HPS Partner, Jennifer Ries-Buntain, has been named one of the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin & Chicago Lawyer’s 2021 Salute! Women in Law Award honorees.

The Law Bulletin describes the honorees as “exceptional women leaders in the law." Before receiving the recognition, each honoree was nominated by a peer, recommended by multiple other attorneys in Chicago, reviewed by the Law Bulletin’s Women’s Advisory Panel and chosen by a selection committee.

Jen, who is based out of the Firm’s Chicago and Salt Lake Offices, has tried cases across the country and serves as a go-to resource for her clients, many of which are multi-facility healthcare organizations. She was the first non-name partner to lead Hall, Prangle & Schoonveld as managing partner, a job she held from 2014 – 2018.

“Jen is the consummate partner, professional, leader and mentor. What makes her so extraordinary is not only the way she is driven to learn more, do more and be more, but that she is always driven on behalf of others—her clients, her partners, her family, the world.”

Jen continues to serve as a leader at HPS, where she heads the firm’s associate review committee, and also serves as a mentor to attorneys in search of broad professional advice, as well as those seeking specific guidance in disciplines such as business development. For Jen, that service is a natural response to a collaborative culture that she credits with helping her achieve consistently outstanding results.

The Chicago Daily Law Bulletin & Chicago Lawyer’s 2021 Salute! Women in Law Award debuted in 2020 during the lockdown caused by COVID-19. HPS’ current Managing Partner, Marilee Clausing, was named a 2020 honoree.
