Laura Ginett Named in 4th Annual Women In Law Awards

HPS Partner, Laura Ginett, has been recognized by Law Bulletin Media and Chicago Lawyer Magazine in their 4th Annual Women in Law awards. This honor celebrates influential women in law who have committed their careers to the mentorship of other women in the profession, shown success in the legal community and exemplified strong leadership. Laura was recognized with her fellow honorees at a reception hosted by the Law Bulletin on November 28, 2023.

Laura’s 37 year career reflects extensive legal expertise focused on the defense of hospitals and healthcare organizations in medical malpractice cases with specialties in psychiatric and long-term care litigation. Laura joined the HPS Partnership in 2015 and built the long-term care litigation practice area at HPS. She serves in multiple leadership roles as a member of the Executive Committee, the Chair of the Finance Committee, a member of the Income Partner Review Committee and a member of the Strategic Marketing and Client Development Committee. Through these various roles, Laura has mentored many associates, young partners and nurse paralegals, teaching them the complexities of practice and necessary skills to achieve success.

Laura’s involvement in the law community extends beyond HPS, also currently serves as a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. She also was elected board member for the Society of Trial Lawyers from 2005-2007. She Laura has continually been recognized as a Leading Lawyer since 2011 and is a 2023 Super Lawyer. She frequently dedicates her time to various speaking engagements on issues related to long-term care and psychiatric malpractice, as well as telehealth. Her cases have often required an urgent need for crisis communication and media management, and she has spoken on this topic at DRI. Since March 2020, Laura has served on a task force focused on COVID-19 litigation both in Illinois and nationally, as well as pandemic-related promulgations by state and federal agencies.

HPS is grateful to have a Partner like Laura who has been recognized for her legal expertise and leadership as she continues to pave the way for other attorneys to achieve their ultimate success.
