Thomas M. Comstock
BIOGRAPHY
Tom Comstock concentrates his practice on healthcare liability defense. He represents hospitals, long-term care facilities, physicians, physician practice groups and nurses throughout the state of Illinois against claims of medical malpractice. Comstock has experience representing healthcare providers including specialists in emergency medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, cardiology, radiology, dermatology, urology, oncology, orthopedics, anesthesiology, neurosurgery, family and internal medicine, physical therapy and others. He has tried numerous cases to verdict before juries in Cook, Kane and McHenry County, Illinois as well as Salt Lake County, Utah.
In addition to litigation, Tom frequently advises clients on issues relating to risk management, charting, JCAHO, audit trails and quality assurance. Additionally, Tom has experience representing clients in the defense of product liability claims.
As a law student at University of Illinois Chicago College of Law, then called the John Marshall Law School, Tom was Executive Editor of The John Marshall Law Review and represented his school in the John G. Gibson National Moot Court Competition.
In 2015, Tom was included by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin on its annual “40 Under Forty” list of rising attorneys. He has also been recognized as a “Leading Lawyer” since 2022. He continues to serve as a moot court judge for various local law school competitions
