David L. Kalimuthu
BIOGRAPHY
David Kalimuthu’s practice is focused on defending hospitals, medical professionals, and other healthcare facilities against claims of medical malpractice. He has experience in guiding such cases from early investigations all the way through jury trial. He also has defended employers and insurance carriers against workplace and personal injury claims.
David joined Hall Prangle in 2020 after spending four years at another firm where he also practiced medical malpractice and long-term care defense. David has been honored numerous times as an Illinois Super Lawyers “Rising Star". He is also a recipient of the 2022 Trial Lawyer Excellence Award from the Law Bulletin Media’s Jury Verdict Reporter (JVR), an award that honors the cases and career achievements of Illinois Trial Lawyers. Additionally, he was recognized as an “Emerging Lawyer” by Leading Lawyers, which determines the top lawyers who have proven themselves professional, ethical and experienced at an early point in their legal career. The distinction has been earned by fewer than 2% of all lawyers licensed to practice in Illinois.
As a law student at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Law, then called the John Marshall Law School, he served as editor of The John Marshall Law School Law Review and received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in both Administrative Law and Real Estate Transactions.
