BIOGRAPHY
Kate Dzik is a trial lawyer who defends clients against claims of medical malpractice, particularly in matters involving obstetrics and gynecology.
Kate has focused on healthcare law throughout her decades-long legal career, although she initially worked as a plaintiff’s attorney. She switched to representing defendants in 2012 and joined Hall Prangle in 2015, quickly building a reputation as a top defense attorney in obstetrics cases. She credits her early experience representing plaintiffs in informing her approach as defense counsel, because she is able to see cases from the opposing side’s perspective, and to anticipate and address the plaintiff’s strategy.
That approach, along with Kate's exhaustive preparation and her skill at identifying and preparing expert witnesses, has produced consistent success. She not only has regularly obtained favorable verdicts at trial, but she also has obtained summary judgments for her clients, including hospitals and individual doctors, nurses and other healthcare providers.
Kate is a graduate of DePaul University College of Law, and early in her career was recognized among “Forty Under 40” top young attorneys by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. She has also been recognized as a “Leading Lawyer” since 2022.
