Marie Ellerton
BIOGRAPHY
Marie Ellerton has represented doctors and hospitals in medical malpractice matters throughout her three-decade legal career. She has represented physicians, physician assistants, advanced practitioners of nursing, registered nurses, pharmacists, social workers and other providers of healthcare before Nevada State licensing boards and in matters related to hospital credentialing. Marie also has extensive appellate experience, and has briefed and argued issues on appeal before the Nevada Supreme Court. Additionally, she has extensive experience dealing with all aspects of pre-trial matters in cases involving representation of physicians and all other health care providers.
Marie began her professional career as a registered nurse in Las Vegas, Nevada. She became the youngest head nurse in the history of Sunrise Hospital. In 1989, Marie transitioned toward the law, attending the University of Idaho School of Law while also working full-time as a nurse at a local hospital and raising three boys as a single mother. Marie earned her law degree in just two-and-a-half years, and moved back to Las Vegas shortly after completing her legal education.
Marie emphasizes personal relationships in her practices. Her clients are not file numbers but men and women who have dedicated their lives to helping and healing others, and she knows the traumatic effect lawsuits can have on their ability to provide that critical assistance.
Informed by her training as a nurse, Marie has a clear understanding of the issues facing those in the medical field today. That insight, combined with her tireless work ethic, have made her a superior advocate for her clients in their time of need.
