HPS Attorneys Secure Appellate Victory in Florida

HPS successfully defended an appeal in a case involving emergency department care. The pro se plaintiff alleged improper restraint and unwarranted medication administration. At the trial level, HPS won by demonstrating that the plaintiff had pled a medical malpractice cause of action and had failed to comply with the applicable statutory requirements, as well as showing his four other theories were not recognized causes of action.

On appeal, attorneys Jacob Goldstein, Aaron Ryan, and Stevie Starnes, along with paralegal Laura Hintescu, defended the dismissal, and Florida’s First District Court of Appeal affirmed the ruling.
