Michael J. Shannon
BIOGRAPHY
Mike Shannon focuses his practice on defending hospitals and health care providers in the medical malpractice arena. In addition to his decades of experiences in the medical malpractice field, Shannon also has defended corporate and insurance clients in matters ranging from commercial litigation to premises liability and product liability.
Shannon’s practice includes both trial and appellate work. He has defended clients in arbitration and in various administrative settings, including before the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners.
Mike began his career as a labor and employment lawyer before moving into the area of insurance defense. In 2008 he joined the law firm of Lewis Brisbois Bisgaard & Smith, where he practiced in the medical malpractice/professional liability group. He was named partner in 2008.
In 2011, Shannon joined the Las Vegas firm of Hall Jaffe & Clayton, where his practice expanded to include the defense of large corporate clients—including multiple Las Vegas hotels—in premises liability and product liability cases. Shannon also continued to represent hospitals and doctors in medical malpractice cases while at Hall Jaffe & Clayton, where he practiced until leaving to join Hall Prangle in 2018.
