BIOGRAPHY

Casey Tyler handles a variety of matters for hospitals, health systems and other care providers, including claims of medical malpractice that often involve catastrophic injury. He also represents clients in commercial litigation, contract disputes and matters related to accounting and finance, and provides advice regarding risk management. Tyler has a wealth of litigation experience with both jury and bench trials, in addition to arbitration, mediation and regulatory board settings, and he has argued before the Nevada Supreme Court.

A Nebraska native, Tyler earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He moved to Las Vegas to begin his legal career, working for several years at a small, general practice firm before joining HPS in 2008 and building a practice focused on defending hospitals against malpractice claims. He quickly connected with the technical nature of the work as well as the mission of defending healthcare organizations.

But the heart of Tyler's practice is relational. His knack for connecting with clients, witnesses and even opposing counsel enables him to identify creative solutions to thorny legal matters.

Tyler has been instrumental in expanding the reach of HPS’ Las Vegas office to northern Nevada markets such as Reno, Elko and Lake Tahoe, and he is involved with efforts to boost the firm’s presence in neighboring states such as California and Arizona.

Tyler has been recognized among Nevada’s “Legal Elite” by Nevada Business magazine, and has regularly been honored as a “Mountain States Rising Star” by Super Lawyers. He is part of HPS’ elite Catastrophic Trial Team, which convenes as needed to try sensitive, high-exposure cases anywhere in the country.

Tyler and his family love the outdoors, especially hiking and boating near Lake Tahoe. He is also a regular at home games for the NHL’s Las Vegas Golden Knights, and travels several times each fall to watch the Nebraska football team in action.
