Michele C. Anderson
HIGHLIGHTS
Past president of the Society of Trial Lawyers
BIOGRAPHY
Michele Anderson is the hiring partner at Hall Prangle as well as a leader within the firm’s healthcare practice. She is a litigator who is passionate about research, bringing to her work a deep understanding of case law and precedent. She also brings a well-developed focus and understanding of the medical questions at issue in each case. That approach has spurred her to numerous major victories on behalf of health systems and practitioners, including a not-guilty verdict in a 2017 case in which the plaintiffs had sought $33 million in damages. The verdict was upheld on appeal.
Michele defends many area hospitals and healthcare providers against claims of negligence, and has particular experience in matters relating to obstetrics, nursing and birth trauma. She speaks frequently on legal issues affecting medical negligence.
As hiring partner at Hall Prangle, Michele strives not only to build a roster of elite attorneys, but also to foster a community of active mentorship and professional development.
Michele began receiving professional acclaim early in her career, when she was included in the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin’s Forty Under 40 list of top emerging attorneys. She has built on that foundation in the years since, and in 2019-20 served as president of the Society of Trial Lawyers, only the second woman to hold that office in the Society’s nine-decade history. In 2022, she was honored with the “Top Women Lawyers & Legislators in Leadership” Award by WBAI. In addition, she was recognized as a “Super Lawyer” in 2024, as well as a “Leading Lawyer” since 2013.
Prior to joining Hall Prangle in 2015, Michele worked at three prominent medical malpractice defense firms in Chicago, including Lord, Bissell & Brook (now Locke Lord).
